btw, Hideaki Anno's wife is the famous manga creator Moyoco Anno.
And Moyoco Anno's uncle is Ko Kojima, a famous manga creator who made sexy kappa art for sake advertisement.
It seems that Osamu Tezuka was partly influenced by Ko Kojima's art.

Tomoko Yamashita's Ikoku Nikki is a must. It's the first manga comes to my mind when I think of feminist manga.
Fumi Yoshinaga's Ooku and All My Darling Daughters are important too.

What FLCL has and Chainsawman doesn't is the admiration for death, which originates from Kyoko Okazaki.
Okazaki inherited the dark desire for death from music genres and depicted is as a symbol of destructive power against the '90s
boring society.

The director said it's an attemp to "forge a myth" It can be rephrased as "remixing myths." When he talked about the film in an interview, he mentioned Hindu trimurti (egg: world, fish: birth, bird: death)
He also said that many myths have similar symbols.
