Nearly a month after Salt and Sacrice's release, players have petted the cat over 840k times and the elk over 490k times for 1.33 million total!
Having to mess with rendering in Salt and Sacrifice today, I took a moment to capture some visualizations of the scene composition. Meshes generated on the fly with my XNA -> Unity framework.
Miss hanging out with friends and messages of support? Salt and Sanctuary for Epic Games Store online functionality has been greatly improved. Boss candles, message bottles, player gravestones, and more. Patch coming early next week.
#SaltAndSacrifice is made up of a -lot- of sprites, so to efficiently render the maps parts are culled with various granularity. Here's a few very early development screenshots I took showing off what it looks like if you were to zoom the camera out beyond what players could see.
Some -really- rough level design for the first stage. Mostly, I'm just trying to get an ugly prototype together so I can start tweaking gameplay and seeing what works and what doesn't.
