@ElyasArt i've seen it has to do mostly with the texture the image has. Since the marker brush often works to make the aspect, and of course theres the need to not use things such as effects with layer modes. i tried doing something of the sorts once, it works similar for watercolor too

dear followers i need your input. i was going to use cell shade in the webcomic, but it just took more time than if i did with the bruses im used to work with. but, iwant to know, which of these you like the most?
