Happy Christmas Eve! The Nordic Gnome was delighted with his traditional bowl of porridge and is also making sure all the presents are prepped and ready for distribution.

The Nordic Gnome decided to visit Newgrange for the winter solstice. A truly magical sight - the sun rises and the light reaches into the mound.

Nordic Gnomes are traditionally caretakers and helpers on the family farm or holding. So as a rule considered…handy. I suppose everyone has an off day. Christmas lights did come up eventually though.

The Nordic Gnome disappeared yesterday, no word at all, then I get a ping they decided to take a stroll up to Boa Island in Fermanagh for a chat with the Lustymore Man an old friend.

As I was grabbing my morning coffee I was met with a drenched Gnome. Turns out they were told by gulls that Fastnet Rock was THE place to be during storms. Not so. Gnomes do not like being wet. “Stay safe and don’t make unnecessary journeys” the Gnome grumps. #StormBarra
Another Dolmen for the Nordic Gnome today, Rostellan Dolmen in Co. Cork. Rostellan Dolmen is intertidal and there is some discussion if it could be a folly built as part of the no longer extant Rostellan estate. The Gnome, who could solve the mystery, is staying annoyingly quiet
The Nordic Gnome caught an amazing sunset at Poulnabrone dolmen (a portal tomb) in the Burren, County Clare today. They enjoy the location for the remoteness of the location. It is of course completely different to what the area looked like when the Neolithic farmers lived here
The Nordic Gnome feels it is now OK to really start taking out the candles. The dark and dreariness of everything feels a bit easier in candlelight. Visiting the "Kindred Spirit" sculpture in Midleton is also a relaxing pastime.

The Gnome went for a walk during the clear and cold night we had. I’m being informed to keep and eye out for black ice patches and take care in icy conditions. I wonder if there was an incident I have not been told about 😊
