This was the last chibi I made in 2016. I wouldn't make another chibi for 2 years. Senior year got busy so I had to put a pause on my artwork, but I think it was for the best. I wasn't really satisfied with my current style anymore.

I don't know if it was entirely the cuteness or the fact it was a cool and unique concept, but it really inspired me overall. In 2015, I mostly focused on cell/soft-shading work, but when 2017 hit I focused primarily on painting.
I have examples during that transition:

I first started doing chibis pretty early on in my drawing career. I was a huge fan of shoujo manga like Shugo Chara and that basically started my love for chibis. What made the manga special was that most of the main characters had chibis with them and I really liked that.
