The #UnitedStatesSenate unanimously adopted a resolution commemorating the 75th anniversary of the #WarsawUprising. The Senate recognises the uprising as a landmark event during #WWII, in which brave and heroic #Poles revolted against the #German occupation of the city.

#OTD 8⃣0⃣ years ago, the #German units which hadn’t received the order to cancel the invasion of #Poland, attack Polish troops near the border. They were withdrawn within hours. Poles thought that this was another provocation. #Hitler set a new date of the attack for 1 September
