its so funny how comparatively conservative i initially drew him but now hes

also it's funny that in the much earlier points of this thread, lining was like, my least favourite thing to do so i had no real confidence in my lines and would default to using a low opacity brush and drawing over things several times to give it a sort of "fuzzy" effect
ANOTHER long break -> the caligula 2 and PLA OC art that we're at right now in 2022. At this point ive definitely gotten better at using digital art programs and figuring out how to draw in a way thats appealing to me. come on 2023!
another long break ->i drew digimon in 2020 and learned that shit with a lot of details and lines is actually much easier to draw and construct for me even if it took forever. also getting closer to drawing digital in a way that looks as "natural" to me as my traditional art does
I would honestly say a lot of my traditional art at the time was better/closer to how i wanted to draw but thats bc i havent really learned to line/draw digitally effectively yet
around 2018 i downloaded CSP and tried drawing on a tablet for realsies. my drv3 era.... I had to kinda "relearn" how to draw both bc i wasnt good at using a tablet/my break was so long but I could fuck around with layers/composition/colours more on CSP compared to colours 3D
i should also mention that like every piece from above was done on Colours 3D on the 3DS and these were like, the last pieces i did on that software (around 2016) before I took a huge break from drawing in general because....idk actually. i think i got into fire emblem then
and this carried over to when i drew fanart for other things, most notably dds which had a completely different art/character design which i learned to adapt on my own (kiznaiver was easier bc it was also studio trigger so it was klk adjacent. but still)
