AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #6
ZEB WELLS (W) • ED MCGUINNESS (A)
There's something quite funny to me about the idea of a landmark issue celebrating the past by just, sort of, doing it again. Although I shan't lie, the Sinister Adaptoid is exactly the villain that kid-me would've loved.
HULKLING & WICCAN #1
JOSH TRUJILLO (W) • JODI NISHIJIMA (A)
I really rather enjoyed this Infinity Comic, and I'm surprised it's taken this long for the characters to have their own book at all. I've yet to read a scrolling comic in print, I wonder how well the form adapts.
JANE FOSTER & THE MIGHTY THOR #1 (OF 5)
TORUNN GRØNBEKK (W) • MICHAEL DOWLING (A)
Mixed feelings. On one hand, hell yeah Grønbekk is returning for another Jane Foster miniseries! On the other, I'm not down with the idea of her not being Valkyrie. She's grown since being Thor.
OH HEY HEY HEY IT'S #NEWCOMICBOOKDAY
Here's what's caught my eye this week. What about you?
CAPTAIN CARTER #1 🇬🇧
McKelvie as a writer? Intriguing...
WOMEN OF MARVEL #1 ♀️
These anthologies are very much my jam.
STRANGE ACADEMY #17 📚
I'm still in disbelief that this exists.
Today is a delicious #NewComicBookDay
Here's what I'll be picking up. What are you reading this week?
#SheHulk ☢️
#DoctorStrange
#MilesMorales 🇵🇷
#ThisWeekInMarvel OK to read
There is much to be said about the simple beauty of David Aja's Iron Fist update, but my personal favourite is Kaare Andrews' Bruce Lee homage. Especially with the accompanying triple-iron weapon. https://t.co/aU3YHCARo7
So much respect to @79SemiFinalist and the team behind Captain Marvel for adding to the world of Carol with such brilliant characters as Lauri-Ell and Binary as well as expanding Carol's power potential. This is the best Cap has ever been, in my humble opinion. Get reading, kids.
Alright, we've heard enough about your favourite character in comics. That's fine. What I wanna know is; who's your favourite side character? By which I mean, someone who's unlikely to get their own spin-off, but you still adore them? Mine's probably Lei Kung, the Thunderer.
This weekend I've been watching GRIDMAN and DYNAZENON, two connected-but-distinct series from Studio Trigger. I'm only a third of the way through Dynazenon but so far I'm having more fun with it. Gridman had a fun mystery story and spectacular action. What have you been watching?
