Looking at Demon's Crest characters to understand character design... Then I notice something...
The npc marked in red... What are they?
The first 4 are different, but they're demons: 3 fingers, pointy ears, similar jaw...
But the last one 👁️👁️

In the best endings, Firebrand flies to the highest point he can find and throws the crests away like trash. No seventh crest seems to appear for him and it's never clearly explained.
That's the hidden message, the power of the last crest is making one realise the true self.

The fabled crests appear, Hell starts a war... Just demons fighting each other to see who gathers all the 6.
Firebrand (below) is able to get the 6 crests after endless fights, but he's so tired that Phalanx (dude in the image above) steals them and becomes the new ruler of hell
