Add lighting and effects. I'm sure there are some people who follow me on twitter but don't read my comic. If you're one of those people, go ahead and caption what you think is happening, because that'd be hilarious.
I felt guilty about what I've done to my characters. So I built them a cozy little home on an idyllic hill. It made me feel more guilty since there's nobody to occupy it.
And add a little fine detail light around the face to accentuate the eyes, nose and mouth. And there we go. She's ready to roll.
Converting a duplicate of the soft light into hard light, and coloring it dark purple.
Converting the shading into soft light. This makes it look like she's made out of bubble gum.
Add a few highlights (and try not to overdo it, like I did on the bangs)
Flat color, quickly becoming the thing I want to leave my panels as. I like the simplicity. Not that I don't like the way I do things. I just..there's an appeal.
