@StefanoSix7 @GustavHatsek @Based_Croatia No. I would take a more objective approach. What evidence is there that god exists? What subjective reasons make it more comfortable to believe in god than not? What do anthropology and history tell us about the development of different concepts of god?
@Yungp58678325 @Scruton_Quotes Indeed; they still managed to find their way.
@iambryaen What a disingenuous way of arguing! My tweet was a reply to one by you (which you omit) respectfully citing St Augustine on the "truth". For 1400 yrs the church was chiefly concerned with the violent suppression of "heresy". Enlightenment scepticism forced it to stop 400 yrs ago.

@NuttyNannette @sbrennan671 @bruce_bwkm Either a) A deity decided to "create" a trillion varied species of bacteria, 17k species of lichen & 28k species of fish; Or b) these species evolved by adaptation to different environments over millions of generations through the refinement of mutations which improved survival.
@NuttyNannette @bruce_bwkm Are you a Manichaean heretic? Fortunately for you Enlightenment scepticism forced Xtians to stop burning heretics 400 yrs ago.
@YKvasha @MBPaulkovich It isn't unreasonable to be bothered by the fact that for its first 14 centuries the main occupation of Christianity was to identify and kill heretics. By opposing faith with reason and evidence we may hope to avoid a return to this barbarism.
