Look here, I have bought this bonnet. I do not think it is very pretty; but I thought I might as well buy it as not.

You pierce my soul. I am half agony, half hope. Tell me not that I am too late, that such precious feelings are gone for ever. I offer myself to you again with a heart even more your own than when you almost broke it, eight years and a half ago.

How do you like my gown? I think it does not look amiss; the sleeves were entirely my own thought.

Open carriages are nasty things. A clean gown is not five minutes' wear in them. You are splashed getting in and getting out; and the wind takes your hair and your bonnet in every direction. I hate an open carriage myself.

Elizabeth has given me a hat, and it is not only a pretty hat, but a pretty style of hat too. It is something like Eliza's, only, instead of being all straw, half of it is narrow purple ribbon.
She is a nice-looking woman, and wears one of the prettiest straw bonnets in the place.
