It seems to be basic marketing that we are driven by what is "All-New" and "All-Different". In comic books, we get routine reboots and recharacterizations, but often short-lived as they cease being new and the IP has value that requires stability.
If you are using the 'Its not for you / just don't buy it then' argument for one, shouldn't you use it for the other?

Information comes from the past coming forward in ways considered to be unnatural. A seance connects you to Aaron Burr, or a dagger makes you experience (or relive) memories of the past. Nothing in the past changes.
Of course, its the *interior* work being compared unfavorably, which is fascinating as Western is a publishing company. This is the same company used to make the Dell Disney comics after all.

Talking with @Walker_KM on our current pandemic, and my mind is linking it to decades of American love for the zombie pandemic. Y'know, the one that's like Lord of the Flies with machetes and firearms.
