If I wanted to bring something like this into the 3D world, what software would I need? How many months (years??) would I need to train myself? Can it be done on a Mac or do I need to buy a PC? I think dimensionally when creating but have very little 3D software experience...

I love the @cryptovoxels map. It is super dense. I wonder though, how many years until we can build really immersive realistic landscapes and experiences? I want to build a Soto metaverse. Imagine walking up to a massive Owl that speaks to you in wise mysterious riddles...
