@AlixEHarrow I say this having already commissioned her for two paintings, but @SerenaMalyon 😍
The Duality of Man
(Slightly manic/wrist hurts vs I Just Solved a Work Problem and Am At Peace)
I painted this in my senior year of college and hated it basically as soon as I finished it. Some of it was a disconnect between my hand and my eye in the midst of leveling up, but a lot of it was the mean remarks of a teacher the year before about "dumb fantasy" art.
Irmo/Lórien.
Responsible for the creation of dreams and desires, as well as visions. He was more known as Lórien after the name of his dwelling place.
Ulmo.
All waters were under his government: bays, rivers and even the waters under the earth. Melkor feared the Sea because the sea cannot be tamed.
Manwë.
With Melkor the eldest of the Valar, and the one that best understood the will of Eru. A kind, compassionate ruler, unconcerned with his own power; the winds and airs were his servants.
Sorry, I lied, three years. This was the only painting I did in 2017, in March. (I still love this a lot.)
#BlueArt and also hardcore throwbacks to when I was still painting — we've got 2011 (narwhal), 2013 (shooting star), and 2015/2016 (the two smoky figures from my Valar series)
