Ah of course, very anachronistic, that was the first thing I noticed about this piece too
@DerekPutin Canonically this is the easiest way to trick the Chosen Undead into doing things
tired: watching Netflix's The Sandman
wired: re-reading The Sandman
inspired: reading Garth Ennis comics with cheeky jabs at non-Preacher Vertigo titles
2013: Honourable mention to Rayman Legends for being a legitimately great couch co-op game but, if you can get used to the parrying system, MGR is just such a fuckin Experience. Ultraviolence! Feelings! Every boss has their own fake Linkin Park song explaining their motivations!
2014: mostly picking this to break the FromSoft streak (sorry DS2) but this is the reason I "get" fighting games now (a blessing and a curse, as any fighting game fan can tell you). Really like the anime goofiness of it all. And the dolphin
2017: Another tightly designed (albeit HUGE) and charming action-adventure game, there's a genuine sense of mystery, menace and sadness to it that's hard to describe
Starting to realise that my issues with some "modern" art (meaning really old art but not literally from the 1500s) might stem not so much from it being difficult, as it was perceived by more conservative aesthetes at the time, as from elements of it retroactively becoming kitsch
