After last week's #SundayArchaeology thread on #Gravettian 'venus' figurines and #Paleolithic fashion found some interest - how about continuing this week with a closer look at their #headdress? https://t.co/wheQrmSwU0
A number of these figures also show a couple of details which might be interpreted as headdress - and even #clothing from the Upper #Paleolithic #Gravettian (of which we have little evidence otherwise).

Berlin Hauptbahnhof, March 2022. So many people arriving from Ukraine these days. So many tired eyes and exhausted faces. Elderly, hardly able to stand. Women, clinging to their children. So many children.

#HistorysFirstArchaeologist: We got a winner!
#Nabonidus, King of Babylon takes the trophy home.
But #Khaemweset delivered an exciting and close run, in particular in the last quarter. So, who knows, maybe they sooner or later agree on a return match ...
@lui_log @roxane_bicker Fair enough.
Today marks the 200th birthday of Heinrich #Schliemann - selfmade-archaeologist & excavator of #Hisarlik Tepe (today Turkey), where he assumed to have located the city of #Troy from Homer's "Iliad" (and unearthed a whole sequence of settlements from 5th mill. BC to 5th ct. AD).
