@SevanGrim Right?! I loved Zero One's look, but I'm not gonna lie, it's been hard for me to get into some of the other modern designs. I'm a sucker for the sleek, minimal style of earlier Riders like Black & Black RX. This is a film reboot of Black, & it 's definitely working for me!
@themattprov Maaaaaatt. Why would you do this to me??? 🤣
Ok, let's see...
Hawkeye #15 by Julian Totino Tedesco
Captain Marvel #1 by Kris Anka
Ultimates 2 #1 by Bryan Hitch
16B. I feel like its the visual/storytelling language through which I learned to create, the same way some people learn to speak English through films. Its like going "home" & regrouping on a bad day. It feels like second nature. Its also where I feel most free to try new things.
16. The easiest thing for me to draw?
...ok, I'm not even gonna try & front. Its Ghostbusters. Seriously, when I have artist's block & feel like whatever I'm doing isn't working, I stop, I take a breath, & I draw GB. Its like a reset that reminds me I DO know what I'm doing 😂
11. Here's some fun sketches/WiPs that never saw the light of day! For Ghostbusters Fan Fest in 2019 I was asked to do a print that all attendees would get. Wizard World didn't give me much direction, so I aimed for something celebrating the past AND the limitless futures of GB.
4. My favorite thing to draw?
Hmmm... I could just say "Ghostbusters", & that's very true, but more broadly, I think, heroes. People who fight for their friends, families, & loved ones. Who are loyal to a fault, & will fight even if afraid. Who have hope & refuse to let it go.
@donovanmartin5 As far as Spider-Man books to check out after Ultimate Spider-Man, these were the ones that introduced me to the larger world of Spidey in comic form, and I still love them so much...
If I hadn't read Ultimate Spider-Man, I may have never seriously gotten into comics.
If I wasn't hooked by Brian Bendis' writing & Mark Bagley's art, & become addicted to Stuart Immonen, David LaFuente, & Sara Pichelli's work, I may never have seriously pursued creating comics.
And just for fun, here's 4 manga that have meant the world to me too. Yes, they're all mecha. Fight me:
