Hm...feeling bitter about the S2 finale again.
The predation scene is crucial for this series, I’d put it about equivalent in influence to Legosi and Haru’s fountain scene.
And yet when I compare the two, I feel...tremendously underwhelmed
@TwinkleTwink69 ItaParu usually draws them kinda small in his day to day life!! Anime Louis’ irises are always big and sparkly, even when they’re narrowed
This is the difference between Legosi/Louis and Legosi/Haru.
The predation incident is Legosi’s acceptance of Louis’ weakness and Louis’ acceptance of Legosi’s strength. It’s their way of making peace with themselves and each other as a carnivore and herbivore...
Good use of his S2 strength training 😎🐺

I’m not surprised they skipped the entire set up to the conversation between Louis and Ibuki, given that they’re stuffing the entire finale into one episode.
Because of that, though, the big “I like carnivores” revelation didn’t punch as hard as it should’ve, which is a shame.
Beautiful opening shot of Legosi with the moth larvae! If there’s one thing to complain about, I dislike that the idea of eating insects came from Gouhin.
Murder Res starts tying things in with Legosi’s past, but (understandably) the anime had to skip most of that stuff...
You give Legosi both Haru and Louis as deuterags and you give him
1) someone to protect, to fight for, to treat gently, to want to understand
2) someone who he understands completely, who understands him, and who fights by his side
