Growing up in Michigan in the early 90s when I didn't have to worry about responsibilities such as health insurance, one of our local providers advertised on television, stadium billboards and in magazines with this exceedingly hip cat character. Bring him back, you cowards.

Rocket Knight / Sparkster is one of many characters that tried to stake their claim during the densely populated mascot platformer genre of the 16-bit era, and then subsequently vanished. I drew him as a kid, and wanted to redraw him now.

Perhaps it's due time for a reboot?
