@RobGradyVO I dunno, I think that does apply to Digimon too - while there's no hard "gens" in Digimon, you could often tell what *general* era one was from. Look no further than the original Agumon and the 2006 variant

It's a more recent trend for them to invoke the classic style again

I still love WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon a lot, but they definitely work a lot better as Adventure-style Warp Evolutions of Agumon and Gabumon, rather than directly evolving from MetalGreymon and WereGarurumon

Something I appreciate about BlitzGreymon and CresGarurumon is how they stick closer to the theming of MetalGreymon and WereGarurumon-

being a heavily armed cyborg and fantasy-style warrior respectively
