I hate bg why do I do this to myself I just wanted to draw umu

I cut out the coloring of the char so here's a mini process of that part-

I have to say it's not exactly as I envisioned, but I learned a heck ton about bg things || another world (original piece)

water makes me cry ;-; there's still a whole butt ton of lighting things after this, and smaller patches of water too...
