Finally, I painted the final product of peeled tubers in a basket made of club-rush tuber stems, a reminder that this chaîne opératoire didn’t happen in a vacuum but was part of a wider taskscape, the harvesting and processing of the tubers served multiple goals.

My challenge with this infographic was to summarize the different experimental harvesting and processing techniques tried as well as highlight he most likely steps based on comparison to the archaeological botanical and stone tool evidence from Shubayqa 1.

Finally, we’ve shown people carrying out most steps instead of just the associated plants or artifacts. I hope this reminds the viewer of human agency and the actual past people behind the archaeological remains we find today. 5/7

I've done a lot of digital painting in the last year but my true love is watercolor and graphite. I've got a couple paintings on the go now which I hope to share soon. In the meantime here's one from 2015, a common snapping turtle.
