@QuillQuestions Black Rose Guard - Mara and Cassandra haven’t actually met yet, in spite of being six books into the series. Their meeting will be a series climax, as Cassandra’s real identity and how it connects to Mara, is the biggest mystery of the series.

@MicheleQuirke @ricasketches Love the illustration! 💜
Black Rose has a medieval setting, so most travel is done by horse 🐎
Flames of Kalleen is a kingdom ruled by dragon shifters, so most characters transform and fly 🐉

@WryCritic I write have original characters, but have absolutely no talent for drawing! I’m in awe of those who can! I’ve been lucky & honoured to work with some talented artists for my books.
Dragon - @RavenQuinnMusic
Dragon & princess - @SolaiceArt
Princess Mara & roses - @ViiMorteArt
@EurasKaryot Black Rose Guard - Mara and Edward are both knights. Edward taught her the ways of the sword and knighthood, and they have fought together ever since.

Hard to choose, as I have several sword scenes I loved writing, but here’s a glimpse of a sword fight between Captain Mara and Captain Edward. - From Shadow of the Rose.

@NerdyNikkiAnn Black Rose Guard-Mara met Edward as a child. He was a knight.
Mara told him she wanted to be a knight. Edward told her the first rule of knighthood: Honour the realm & always keep your word.
Years later, he trained her, and captured her heart as well. (They are immortal Fay)
@GabriellaBuba Yes. Captain Mara is a sword master ⚔️ She spends her days training other knights and sparring.

@RipleyJNick Princess and Captain Mara - She leads her men fairly and with a balance of discipline and mercy. She never asks anyone to risk more than she is personally willing to, and she throws herself into battle right alongside fellow knights.
