They honour promises, at any cost.

They are also immortal Fae.

@RipleyJNick Black Rose Guard - Sub-Captain Phillip was a father figure to Mara, who helped train her in the ways of knighthood. He died 600 years before the story begins, but Mara still dreams of him and longs for his presence & wisdom.

@MicheleQuirke @WinterMaiden11 Mara & Edward have enchanted Arius swords. They are ancient weapons, passed down by rank - king’s blade, Captain’s blade, queen’s blade, etc.

Each hilt is unique, but the blades themselves are formed of enchanted metal, with the power to kill those generally considered immortal.

Sarah, (sword) the half-blood daughter of a tavern maid who dreams of becoming a knight, and is given her chance.

Princess Liza, a Fae royal whose abduction started a war between the Fae royal courts.

Sir Gwain (blond) is from my Flames of Kalleen dragon-shifter fantasy series. Dragon symbols in his armour & sword.

Sub-Captain Jake is from my Black Rose Guard dark fantasy Fae series.

@SRRNandy Black Rose - Physically speaking, Mara was struck by an enchanted Arius sword in her side which sliced into her lung.

But for Mara, watching her love be slowly tortured in front of her was more painful than any physical injury. It takes away the last of her innocence.
