Updated this pic of them with some adjustments. I'm actually having trouble getting values right with this coloring style but I think im getting closer to what im trying to go for!

I want to make a vn with watercolors!!! But its impossible for me atm bc I dont have the workspace for paintings, so here I am trying to figure out how to replicate the pigment separation I saw when painting and trying to get nice greys without using grey

Comparing them is SO SURREAL LMAO i guess i got so used to seeing/drawing them in the cartoonish style

I found my earliest sketches of the Painter and Researcher and they were in my usual drawing style before I decided on the cartoonish style. I decided to draw them in the other style and granted I did these quick but, seeing them in this style now seems so... wrong 😂
