Remember how he always dreamed of being a tough big buff guy as a kid ? (In fairness we have no idea if pillow world was actually a dream or not but it's like pretty likely imo DSGDF) but then he gets more comfy w just being himself and he grows up as........ (wait for it)

We're all familiar with this scene in "To Cut a Woman's Hair". A lot of young transmascs grew up with long hair !! Plus, Finn didn't mind in the slightest getting rid of it. (He goes through a Lot of hair journeys in the series in general)

In "The Jiggler", it is shown that Finn has swallowed a tiny computer which let's him auto-tune his voice at will. This is something referenced throughout the eternity of the show, showing it's still there. This could be how he deepens his voice.

I'll try to go somewhat chronologically, and so will start with the Pilot. He calls himself Pen. This page in the comics references this, and makes it canon that Finn indeed called himself Pen at one point, showing that he experimented with naming himself.
