Art often expresses more layers than words can capture. Some symbols are universal and really resonate with certain times. Hands are one symbol that many Gr. 10s used in their art reflections on the Corona virus @trinitytitan
Visio Divina is a great way to pray and do art history at the same time. Today my classes reflected on the meaning of Palm Sunday using Entry into Jerusalem, a fresco painted by Early Renaissance painter, Giotto, completed in 1305 in the Scrovegni Chapel in Padua (Italy).
So excited about the progress the Gr. 11s have made with watercolour @trinitytitan ... here are a few almost finished pieces
This piece was born after our discussion of encounter in gr. 11 art. Tia and Will painted it together-each element grew out of the one before it. The painting wasn’t initially intended to be surrealist but it took on a life of its own.
A few more Encounter paintings from today’s Faith Day @trinitytitan
More paintings going home for vacation... these were painted by students taking art for the first time @trinitytitan
Gr. 9s are starting to finish their ribbon drawings... I love how the shading reveals each students’ unique personality
