Spot illo - otters in their spare time making a chain of shells to hold spells and defend their bend in the stream.
I was out of the studio yesterday and didn't have a chance to do a #tbt. Here's a Tolkien inspired piece from a few years ago. I kind of liked it in this unfinished state but was inspired to complete it when an offer to purchase came in. Thanks again everyone for the support.
Otter on guard. Recent spot illustration for the Gwelf book.
Inspiration Friday - Chien Chung Wei, Taiwanese watercolourist. I really like his colour and design choices, the way he masses shapes and creates a dense atmosphere. So good.
Here's your daily Gencon reminder. #gencon2019 See you there.
Raven Witch with carcass, birdcage spoon - I know but still...
Going to keep posting about Gencon until we leave on Tuesday. #gencon2019
Inspiration Friday - Why do I love these colours? I have no idea but I have always been drawn to these earthy tonal palettes. I find them moody, pleasing and atmospheric. Alan Lee, Dean Mitchell, Andrew Wyeth and Chien Chung Wei. Do you agree?
#ThrowbackThursday to a trio of LOTR wolf riders from a few years back. Watercolour on paper.
Fox in the Scrublands. Illustration for the intro page. Watercolour and pencil crayon. Really trying to set the mood that Gwelf could be a creepy place, if you're not careful. More soon.
