Revenants' bodies are subject to two processes: Adaptation and Convergence. The former makes the revenant mutate the more its body is damaged, while the latter is their tendency to appear more human-like as time passes.

Revenants are truly odd creatures, tho their structure may resemble that of a human, it differs drastically once you look more into it.
