I had the pleasure of collaborating in (and illustrating) the report of a gannet (Sulidae) from the middle Miocene of Sesimbra, Portugal. Here is the coloured version of my reconstruction of the live animal.

Inspired by Natalia Jagielska's pieces that portray animals in a traditional artstyle, this is a piece of a mosasaur in the style of the traditional sardines of Lisbon.
