Bridget Riley was a powerhouse of op-art, and her writings on visual perception and experience completely opened up how I saw and created art when I did my bachelor's degree. So glad to own this copy of a book I was sorely tempted to never give back to the library.
@TaniaWalker I'm more on the fantasy/metaphorical side of sci-fi but definitely in the bright and optimistic camp. These are a couple of scifi covers I've done plus a more colourful kids' one. :)
@hibbary I love love love Bridget Riley's art. It's funny because her stuff is the base of a lot of those classic optical illusions so it feels really familiar but she was the pioneer of it. The way her work pushed how line and colour can visually vibrate had such a big impact on me.
And we are done for the month with a lil low key painting of my brother's cosy apartment. Thanks for coming along on the journey!
