I now like to bring up a theory with what we know:
We know Growlithe is now far more based on the Chinese Guardian Lion.
We also know that Sinnoh and Johto are connected due to the Sinjoh Ruins.

Now if you didn't know Entei is ALSO based on the Chinese Guardian Lion

With this new form as seen above it's borrowing far more from the actual design of the Chinese Guardian Lions.

The interesting aspect of this however ties into the origin of Arcanine which is referred to as the "Legendary Pokemon".

Yo, got some major revelations regarding the new Regional Growlithe's Origins and some possible theory of the design forward.

Origin: Chinese guardian lions

So Lion Dogs (Komainu) is Growlithe's original design/origin and was more based on the term "Lion Dog".

Also as a note, I once again helped out with the Logo colors and thumbnail gain!
