The red can also be seen as something almost matador-esque, a slayer of something "wild". Which checks out the Imperial Virbanwa aesthetic.
My main clothes inspiration for him being old illustration plates and Christian Lacroix :p (yes, I did costume design 4 film lol)

Ofc I wanted personality to shine thru in subtle ways that would deviate a bit but not look out of place for SS. I kept the rigid silhouette but softened it w the circle. He's looking away, not looking down at u. He's much younger n has much less certainty. A hint of doubt
