When the original Howl pic had its moment, I mean an animation loop, fanart redraws, people saying he was so hot it made me happy. But that anxiety still persisted. I like representing hot Native people in my art bc we deserve to have some joy, but yikes @ recent events!

I know with these OCs I’ve had lots of plans for them but I got worried I’d contribute to a larger problem that exists for us. It’s a trick situation of wanting to draw hot Native ppl for myself & other Natives but weirdos out there...🤒

Something I genuinely worried about as I got more traction on my redraws and original arts, was “is this going to find the wrong people?” Recent events showed there are actually people who will fight tooth and claw to fetishize us..and that’s sad. I’ve seen the impact already.
