My subject matter ranges from landscapes, taken from my holiday or local sketchbook or still life arrangements set up in my studio, where lighting plays an important part. My main medium is oil and I find painting on gesso-primed watercolour paper gives an interesting texture.

The theme of my work is speed and movement, often with sport as the subject - specifically endurance cycling, taking inspiration from the Tour de France, La Vuelta de España and the Tours of Britain and Yorkshire. There is a feature on Maxine on the LSA website.

Eliza by Jane French, oil on board. Jane is an accomplished figurative artist and portrait painter. She is a member of the Contemporary British Portrait Painters collective (CBPP) – a group of some of the best portrait artists working in Britain today.

George Sfougaras' work is concerned with the way people’s lives are affected by history and how national symbols, myths and rhetoric shape identity. He has worked community and exhibition projects about migration and refugees. This work is ‘Phenotype’ (acrylic and pen on paper)
