@SCBWI_BI My dream project was to have a pic bk i'd written & illustrated published. That will soon be reality as my Author-Illustrator debut 'In Our Hands' is coming out with @Tate_Publishing in Sept. Now, I just feel so lucky to be doing this job & my dream is to continue #SCBWIchat

@SCBWI_BI For this book it was Sophia & Bilal as a unit. I love the cheeky but sweet nature of these two! They've been so fun to work on & I've loved thinking up ideas for all their impish exploits. Such as the cushion fight illo on spread 1, that ends in a feather explosion. #SCBWIchat

I'm still obsessed with folktales, so thought i'd add another one to the series. This one is based on the Chinese story 'Li Chi Slays a Serpent'. Here's Li Chi on the hunt for the beast, guided by the spirits of the serpent's past victims.

Whoop i'm on the home stretch - the last spread of my book, which will be published in September. So excited to share this with the world. But for now here are two, tiny chunks from the penultimate spread, which has taken an age to complete, but I'm so proud of.

This week I begin a big new ‘work’ adventure.
I’ve been writing for a while now & some months ago an awesome publisher made an offer on a picture book text I began 4ish yrs ago.
Last week the contracts were signed, this week I start the illustrations.
Still pinching myself!
