whenever i see them together like this i get so emo about the designs vash in his man made clothing this bright red coat, artificial arm, nai so completely neutral, naked nothing to hide. and how as kids they dressed the same now vash rejects all of that wow

and when he says dont touch vash its not just possessiveness, its dont touch him bc you'll hurt him, YOU did this, if you weren't here messing with his head he wouldn't have created the gate he wouldnt have lost his arm he wouldn't be hurting he would've came back to me

vash looks so lost & confused abt what is happening, while nai immediately knows what to do, prepares his knives and just briefly closes his eyes in preparation. no hesitation he throws himself at vash who JUST absorbed a man. the way nai is ready to make these difficult choices

and when vash attacks him i think this is the first time nai sees this side of vash, an autonomous side, a side that defies him. so much hurt and realisation goes through his face. he responds in hysteria. just screaming vash's name

he scowls at luida, then his eyes soften SO much looking back at vash, he takes the gun and says 'u cant do anything w/o me'. i think he means it a little jokingly, to alleviate the tension. but also 'its ok i'll do it for u. i'll always be there to do hard things for u'

and then he asks vash whats wrong and tells him to hurry in the most pleading voice ive ever head. when vash responds with a quivering breath nai just knows, and his expressions shifts to this slightly hurt but understanding one
