I used to. I don't anymore - the effects aren't the same, expectantly. Blush doesn't hit the same, nor does shading - variations in general play differently. Its the same with photography. They're similar - but there's differences for sure.

Absolutely! Saturation especially - colors in life are never fully saturated, and I don't yet have the knack for picking them off-the-cuff, so I use saturation to compensate. Daylight scenes, office scenes, reactor scenes - it really helps place a scene.

It depends on what it is - sometimes color is key to a concept. I'd be remiss to leave it uncolored, then. Technical or action-y concepts usually stay black and white, though - as with all concept art, the key is to focus on what's important.

All. Character design, costume design, environments, equipment, vehicles, atmosphere, cultural references, action references - when I get down to it, its a fun thing to do - its the closest I can come to raw creation in drawing.
