I recently watched Batman Returns, a movie I haven’t seen since the 90’s, but was a HUGE influence in my artistic style during my teen years. Early Tim Burton was amazing.
Here are drawings that I did while watching the movie.

My Irish family seal history for #StPatricksDay :
- Somehow lost the O in O’Dwyer.
- USA (1898): Grandpa Dwyer born.
- Philippines (post-WW2): Gramps migrates and sires a platoon of Filipino Dwyers.
- Present: Raising my daughter in Mexico, a country she calls home.
One of the more odd projects I’ve done was this 2010 Valentine’s sticker set. I was asked illustrate and create new superhero characters in action poses — as long as they were each holding a big red heart. An instant yes from me.
PAG-ASA 1992-2021
For those who were around in Davao, the birth of Pag-Asa (“Hope”) was huge.
The first Philippine Eagle bred in captivity. Conservation awareness skrocketed. At that time, roughly 200 eagles remained.
Thanks to conservation efforts and Pag-Asa, hope lives on.
@MitchGerads Lee Weeks in Batman 67. It was the hardest thing to pick one. Every page was a masterpiece.
@tayari Picture books illustrated by Valeria Docampo are beautiful works of art. Her most recent is Lewis Carrol’s “Alice”, but her past books are also gorgeous.
