Finished Page 150 today — another milestone, many hugs, many tears!
My process changes a little over time.
For instance:
Around Nov last year, I started grouping pages into “scenes” and thumbnailing batches of 8-11 pages at once.
And around summer of this year, I started making my own palettes for my flats — for more color control. :)
More progress on this today, I WANNA FINISH IT TONIGHT but I’m super pleased with how it’s turning out https://t.co/dAycHFB03s
There were actually THREE characters intros planned! Two were scrapped, one was kept.
The one that was kept? Ed’s! Because there was a lore bit I wanted to establish, this one specifically:
In Book 1 there was going to be two extra character introductions in the stretch between pages 40 and 50, while Romy and Boone are out and about searching for the missing pearl.
Both scrapped because they lengthened the exposition too much.
These are they!!! https://t.co/DpMRHzgGcC
Progress report for 2/3 of the thing, we are in space now https://t.co/vnMyMbSnnn
24) Man, I’m a lover of so many colors. So many palettes.
To be honest whit’cha though, there’s a color scheme I associate pretty strongly with SlumberTown, so I find myself incredibly drawn to it:
Purple, orange and pink - what a beautiful combo!!!!
7) First vs last… the oldest stuff I have on hand is stuff from my DeviantFart, so have a side by side of my first attempt at a digital comic page vs my latest (public) page:
Also my first doodle of the ST trio vs the latest!
5) Goooosh, I don’t know I don’t know! This is something that constantly changes.
Most recently, I’ve been pretty proud of the New York shots I’ve done for my comic. Probably the most detailed background work I’ve done, and it’s made me want to dabble in it more~
