couple of copic/digital tests filling random requests for the character drawing sub on reddit
tooling around with character designs and I just ended up with the same hairdo I had in the original design (old 2020 art for comparison)
hi #PortfolioDay! im mal, i ink and make webcomics about queer idiots with great hair and terrible critical thinking skills
then i can crop, resize, and edit the text until i have an upload banner for twitter that will trick people into reading my comic - and the tedious bits are already done - how cool!
this level of organisation actually saves me time and lets me focus on my, uh, humour
my comic, love and war is 50+ pages so it's split into two story docs
with stories, you can do the same thing to ALL pages using batch processing - VERY powerful!
if you can click it in the menu, you can batch it - import pngs, apply gradient maps... it's endless
@tweedabop look... my pages do look much better if i put some real effort into colouring, but only to me (left is flats only, a darker shade over svana to separate planes, right is high effort with multiple layers). the time saving makes it for me - and i hatttte properly colouring lol
@snowywisp honestly the trick is: flat it all super badly with the csp fill buckets (this selection is AWFUL i'm embarrassing myself here) and then just put a noise layer over the top with minimal colouring so i never have to actually select or use the flats
