The Bad Mark who lives inside me is very strong today. Thanks to those of you who think positively of me and wish me well. It really does matter, more than you can guess.
@Liz_Hand The cool thing, Liz, is my first semester biology students are looking for microbes that make antibiotics from mosses, lichen, and the soil. I call them #APBs (antibiotic producing buddies). It's part of the @TinyEarthNet program. @univpugetsound @ASMicrobiology
OK, I have to get serious. I need to create a podcast about microbiology and education. Sure, there are lots of people out there---some with support of @ASMicrobiology! But it would be therapeutic for me, and hopefully fun for others. Still therapeutic, even if no one listens.
@subsurface_life @bielleogy Which is why @swirlgirl31415 created this, based on an expression my late father had for people who cause pain and trouble and stress. #NoJackwagons. I have stickers and buttons.
Then I further explored Andy Warhol's vision #Bio111A students holding the "gigantic" @GIANTmicrobes plush toys. @univpugetsound @ASMicrobiology
I asked my #Bio111A #TeamMolecular students to do something creative regarding what takes place inside eukaryotic cells. THIS is why my job matters. I'm so proud of this student. @univpugetsound @ASMicrobiology
While checking out my #Bio111A students restreaks of their possible antibiotic producing #APBs for our @TinyEarthNet focus, I saw what I thought were fungi. But wow did it ever smell like geosmin. @univpugetsound @ASMicrobiology
@CrabbyAstrosFan The term "asshat" makes me laugh. Do you know my favorite term for people like that? Jackwagon. Jenny made me an image; I have buttons and stickers.
@LizahvdAart Trust me, I wish I was a stick figure! @vexedmuddler made me into a #TardiDoc once, though....
A one minute #MicrobeWhisperer video about the weird things I show students would be beyond awesome. Sigh.
