My illustration of the mastermind behind this groundbreaking film, (I even put on his shoulder) - I absolutely adore this film. Miyazaki is a genius.

I was commissioned to illustrate but when the person told me why he wanted Katie, I was blown away. He told me he wanted to have a portrait of Katie Taylor in his house to inspire his two young girls, that Katie is the good role model for them. I just love that.

I’ve worked with Shingo Gokan several times, I even illustrated him as an underground street-fighter in a Dead Rabbit menu. This time though, he appears much more somber and suave.
