10. And last but not least, the ammonite behind it all! Ammonites have a global distribution, but the Southern Carnarvon Basin in WA has the richest concentration of latest Cretaceous ammonites of anywhere in the world. A fun fact which I only learned in my resarch for this logo!

9. The big finish, my dear Thylacoleo carnifex. A complete Thylacoleo skeleton has been recovered from the Nullarbor plain, which is the kind of site most Australian palaeontologists can only dream of. Check out those premolars (they have to be drawn to be believed)

The Tumblagooda also includes one body fossil, 4. the Silurian arthropod Kalbarria. I have a giant soft spot for arthropods so this one had to go in. The simplified Diplichnites trackways I've drawn here probably belong to something similar to Kalbarria too.

I'm Nellie, I'm a someday-palaeoartist from Brisbane, Australia, and in the meantime I love drawing animals made from plants! I call these Biosaics (like bio-mosaics) and they're the best game of Tetris ever

Back at it again in the Riversleigh fossil museum, 16 years later 😎 My mum used to have to carry me past the glowing Thylacoleo because I was too scared to walk under it on my own. Look at me now! Selfies like old mates 😍
