Wasn’t really vibing with the references today so found different reference for the second one still keeping with the theme of golden age illustrators.

Using the old method of taking a sketchbook doodle & just painting over it

Had the energy to try & paint something that wasn’t a study.

First is 1hr others are 30min... maybe should have tried another 1hr.... still too slow to properly figure things out in 30min & felt rushed :/

Process video. First time using flatton for flats & it is a life-saver that I look forward to using more. Also finally found a way of rendering with a balance of textures & hard vs soft edges that feels right to me.
