Step 2: Local Color

After getting the basic darks mapped out I start in with some loose color. The aim is to build a base upon which I can execute the final strokes.

This was the first serious monster painting I ever did, they had always been around me and they were always a serious interest but this was the first time I put it out there on the canvas.
