I looked at some of the other Octolings in case that was just an Octoling thing, but they all have round pupils. As far as I know, it's the same for Inklings, too. Here's an example below!
The one above's wearing a hat, so it's probably not a gear option like the Fake Contacts.

I noticed something a little interesting looking at the Tableturf Battle card artworks!
This guy's pupils are unusually shaped!
Could this mean new customization options are on the way?
