I am so grateful for my patient clients and collaborators!
After mastectomy and reconstruction, I have more energy, but wake up with muscle contractions that shoot down my arms and through my fingers. I clench, then extend, and clench again my digits... (cont.)

Unicolored lightbulb-lizard (Riama unicolor)
So I'm not really drawing again yet after a large surgery, working on more simple things. But I have a few #animal drawings ready to go!

After a #BRCA1 prophylactic #mastectomy and 2 weeks recovery, I'm on to a DIEP flap reconstruction.
They'll reconstruct my breasts using tissue and blood vessels from my abdomen. I'm a little nervous but also excited, this marks the beginning of a much lower cancer-risk life!

Galah (Eolophus roseicapilla)
Want to tell if a galah is male or female? Check the eyes, females see the world through a rosy tinted lens!

Giant shield bug (Tessaratomidae sp.)
Sometimes I see a picture of an insect (or if I'm luck in real life) and say, "I must paint you!"

Lewis's moon snail (Neverita lewissi)
A very cool marine #snail from the PNW. I found many of their shells and strange egg-cases on the beaches of my childhood.

Roughsnout ghost pipefish (Solenostomus paegnius)
My recent weekend hobby has been doing the dead-man float over seagrass beds looking for pipefish. But I never find them...

I'm a #medart and #sciart illlustrator, and here are some of my realistic animal portraits!
