Big thread warning: the 2022 @NYUGameCenter spring showcase opens soon! I'll be tweeting photos, screenshots & trailers of new games all evening. It's the time of year when little buds of game burst into playful, hilarious, awesome, weird, glitchy, unexpected blossoms. And frogs.
The games only get more amazing at 3 PM with @mituk hosting, among other things:
A 1970s-cartoon mafia gestural-interaction RPG
A surreal hotel of paper-cutouts
A metroidvania where you move by hurling your huge sword
Ganbatte! Love Prince in Space
Marjorie Liu is the first woman to win an Eisner for writing in the 30-year history of that award, and it's well-deserved: I recommend Monstress highly for fantasy politics with real-world weight (and gorgeous Sana Takeda artwork) https://t.co/EDLqC17ANH
This gender alignment chart from https://t.co/qadv6ohvAG is actually somewhat useful [HT @leighalexander]
